Im extremely annoyed right now... this is our second day at the apartment complex at Atherton Park. On move in day, we had all kinds of troubles loading the Prisma app, required to pay to move in. This took quite some time to resolve, and a trip to walmart on my end. The next day, we find the pool to be closed, with no postings. Now, as I am about to go to bed for the night, I find not one but TWO cockroaches in the bathroom. I have pictures of them, dead and alive. I have NEVER lived in a dwelling with cockroaches and am very disappointed to find this on day TWO. Especially when the initial move in date was pushed back due to thier cleaners. Did they clean at all if there are roaches all over? We have accumulated no garbage in our time here and i have thus concluded that this is a problem from before move in. All our furniture has been cleaned before coming here and was in our last, ROACH FREE apartment. In good faith im not sure how these people could charge so much and have people move into such a space. I see this is a common occurrence here. The folks in the office are pretty friendly and the apartment is more than cute but the issues are outrageousðð I will update this post continuously during my lease terms. I can only hope this gets better.
Update 8/20: the cockroaches... as I have stated in my previous post my brother and I have never lived with cockroaches. We went out and spent 40 dollars at home depot on roach poison of all kinds. Atherton said the extermination crew would arive on Sunday. They actually arrive on wednesday and we're here for no more than 5 minutes. This man placed one glue trap and told us we had done a good job. This is not our job. I should not have to clean up the mess that Atherton left for us when we moved in. Im extreamly fed up with this place. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I've lived in Rochester NY in the projects as well as in Madrid Spain. Never had cockroaches or rude staff. Riddiculas.
Update 8/22 : lived here for almost a full month as my first months is due next week... never have used the pool. It is consistently closed. Sometimes there will be a sign but sometimes not. No messages that it is closed go out anywhere. The staff are rude about it. Im irrational at this point. The staff member told me other people also have tried to get into the pool and can't, suggesting that perhaps i dont know how to use a key. I've spoken to neighbors now and nobody has used this pool. This is an ATHERTON PROBLEM
